Toutiere(French Canadian Meat Pie)

This recipe is a strong contender in the French Canadian culture. It is a meat pie that we call Toutiere. It is a meat pie that is made with a variety of spices. I grew up eating this every Christmas. It was a tradition for every patriarch to make one see who had the best one while keeping it a secret of the different ingredients. It was never a holiday without this baking in the oven. This particular recipe is one that my mother, my grandmothers, and my aunts, as well as their mothers, made.

French Canadian Shepard’s Pie

Coming from a French-Canadian family in New England, this recipe goes back for close to 100 years. This started off as something that was inexpensive yet would hold you over. The recipe stuck through the years and is something I grew up on as a child. Personally, I gave up meat and dairy so there are many substitutions that can be made. All of the versions are a great meal on a cold day.

French Canadian Crepes

This recipe has been in my family for close to 70 years, and it has been something that has been passed down to several generations. There are many ways to eat traditional crepes. The French-Canadian way it to serve only with syrup. Some traditional people will serve with a pat of butter. There is already butter in the mixture, so I left that out. These crepes are gluten-free, but they are also made with regular flour as well. They are very tasty, both ways.

What to Eat Before Running

Well, I finally did it. I signed up for a marathon. To be specific, I signed up for the Atlantic City Marathon in New Jersey on October 18th, 2020. I have never run a marathon before, and right up until this past year, I never thought I would even call myself a runner, period.
