From Field to Fork: How Safe is Your Food … Really?

For three years now, consumer confidence in the safety of the American food supply has remained steady with nearly 50% of American consumers rating themselves as confident in the safety of U.S. foods, according to the “2010 Food & Health Survey,” which was recently conducted by the International Food Information Council Foundation.

And, individuals not confident in the safety of food and beverages fell significantly this year, down to 18% from 24% in 2009.

Food borne bacteria danger lurks in reusable grocery bags

Reusable grocery bags, which are good for the environment, are also a potential breeding ground for food-borne bacteria that can pose serious health risks to the public according to a report recently issued by the University of Arizona and Loma Linda University in California.
