Oh no, it’s almost (insert holiday here) and you forgot to get a gift for someone! No worries, Fill Your Plate has your back! Look over our ideas below to find the perfect easy handmade gift to make that your friend or family member will enjoy.

If you can, try to personalize the gift by adding items or details that relates to the interests of the specific person you’re giving it to. These make the most thoughtful and meaningful gifts that the recipient will love for years to come!

Hot Chocolate or Coffee Stand

You’ll need:

  • A mug (could have the first letter of their name on it or something relating to one of their interests)
  • The persons favorite hot chocolate and/or coffee mix (If it comes in individual packets, buy a container to display them in on the tray)
  • Mini marshmallows, spices, and other toppings
  • Their favorite flavored half and half (I recommend the Starbucks brand). (Must be refrigerated until you give the gift)
  • Torani or Starbucks mini syrups, get 1-3 of their favorite flavors. (Found on Amazon)
  • Cute tray or stand (to make a coffee station with)

Instructions:

  1. Put the tray or stand on a table and add the items above so it fills the tray or stand.
  2. If you’re felling fancy and want to put in a little extra effort, wrap the loaded tray in cellophane and tie it with a ribbon.
  3. Give it to your friend or family member and enjoy!

You’ll need:

  • Mini bottle of Advil
  • Kleenex
  • Chapstick
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Wet Ones wipes
  • Breath mints or Listerine strips
  • Individually wrapped chocolates
  • An extra phone charging cord and plug (optional: add a portable charging bank as well)
  • Crystal Light Energy packets or another caffeine item (5 hour energy, Starbucks gift card, etc.)
  • For women: Brightening under eye concealer/highlighter, Mascara
  • Large, tall mason jar

Instructions:

  1. Put the mason jar on a table and add the items above to fill it up. Feel free to add anything else small that your recipient might enjoy or find handy.
  2. Make a personalized label for your recipient on Microsoft Word with their name on it (example: Sarah’s Survival Kit) and a short inspirational quote if desired (see photo above).
  3. Print it, then cut it out and use a loop of tape to secure it to the front of the jar.
  4. Tie a ribbon in a bow around the neck of the jar.

Movie Night Basket

You’ll need:

  • 4-5 boxes of candy (peanut M&M’s, junior mints, sour patch kids, etc. Pick your recipient’s favorites)
  • A bag or two of pre-popped popcorn (better to not risk the microwave popcorn, they burn too easily. I’d recommend getting Popcornopolis zebra chocolate popcorn, Boom Chicka Pop Kettle Corn, Skinny Pop popcorn, or Smartfood white cheddar popcorn)
  • An Amazon gift card (to rent or buy any movie on Amazon Prime) or a gift card to a local movie theater
  • A few different individually bottled sodas (Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Root Beer, etc. Pick their favorites)
  • An inexpensive fleece blanket or two
  • A medium/big basket to put everything in

Instructions:

  1. Put the basket on a table and add the items above to fill it up.
  2. Wrap the loaded basket in cellophane and tie it with a ribbon if you’re felling fancy and want to put in a little extra effort.
  3. Give it to your friend or family member and enjoy!
