Something that my family always looks forward to at every family gathering is Pear Lime Jell-O salad. It is one of my grandma’s favorite things to make for every holiday party. Don’t let the name deceive you, the salad isn’t actually a salad at all, but rather a light, fluffy, and creamy dessert. It only requires 5 simple ingredients that you might already have on hand and is super quick to make and easy to clean up.
Ingredients:
- 2 (15 oz) Cans of pears
- 8 oz Cream cheese
- 1 (8 oz) Package of lime Jell-O
- 8 oz of Cool Whip
- 1 Cup of water
Directions:
- Drain the pears. Place the juice from the pears in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Mash the drained pears and cream cheese together, mixing until well blended, and set aside.
- Stir Jell-O into the boiling pear juice until it’s all dissolved and then add the water.
- Pour the Jell-O into the pear and cream cheese mixture.
- Gently whisk in the Cool Whip.
- Refrigerate until it sets up, which is approximately 4 hours.
The nice thing about this recipe is that it can be made with any combination of canned fruits and Jell-O flavors. So, no worries if you don’t have canned pears and lime Jell-O on hand!
