Watch Out Cheddar, You’ve Got Some Competition!

Watch out cheddar, there’s a new cheese in town. Last year, the American Cheese Society saw 139 entries in its annual cheese competition for chevre, otherwise known as goat cheese.

Perhaps the USDA’s My Plate took its cue from Arizona Farm Bureau’s Fill Your Plate or at least we’d love to think so! Since 2007, Arizona Farm Bureau has been promoting healthy, fresh Arizona agriculture with its Fill Your Plate program.

The Buzz about Bees

A new book coming out this month offers a unique look at the life of commercial beekeepers and the current state of commercial beekeeping in the U.S. The Beekeeper’s Lament: How One Man and Half-a-Billion Honey Bees Help Feed America by Hannah Nordhaus follows John Miller, one of only 1200 commercial beekeepers still crossing the country each year to pollinate the crops of America’s farms.
