National Bullying Prevention Month: Children Learn Kindness with Moozie!

MOOZIE WITH THE CHILDREN’S KINDNESS NETWORK TO BE HOSTED AT AN ARIZONA DAIRY!— Moozie the cow, the mascot for the Children’s Kindness Network, just can’t stop mooing because October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Taking place at the Arizona Milky Way Dairy in Maricopa, about a half hour south of the Phoenix area, the event focuses on kids – and cows.

Milky Way Dairy owner Nina de Jong says, “We wanted to have Moozie visit our dairy because we believe in the values she teaches kids.  We certainly treat our family, our friends, and our dairy animals – all 28,000 of them – with kindness.  We’re happy to host this event so that thousands can hear Moozie teach and encourage kindness, and reduce bullying in our schools.”

Events for children include:

  • an instrument petting zoo brought by Arizona State University musicians
  • Hayrides
  • Calf feeding
  • Face painting
  • A costumed Moozie and a robotic, talking Moozie
  • Free gifts from Arizona Milk Producers will be given to the first 200 3 to 8 year olds who attend.

Music CD is also available:

Celebrity voices include Chris Botti, Dave Brubeck, Linda Eder, Harvey Fierstein, Sutton Foster, Anne Garrels, Larry Gatlin, Kathie Lee Gifford, Wynonna Judd, Earl Klugh, Trent Kowalik, Kaitlyn Lusk, Jessye Norman, Peter Schickele, Richard Thomas, Ronan Tynan and Ben Vereen.

Timothy Russell conducted the 90-piece Arizona State University Symphony Orchestra for the original Kim Scharnberg scores. On the CD, Moozie’s Orchestra Adventure uses music and talented voices to lead kids on a journey of kindness with the bonus of teaching them about the instruments in an orchestra.

About the Children’s Kindness Network:

Founded in 1998 by Ted Dreier, the Children’s Kindness Network focuses on Moozie the Cow, their Ambassador of Kindness. Moozie began as a garage project by Dreier who grew up on a dairy farm and wondered if he could make a robotic cow. When he visited a Head Start program in Denton, TX with Moozie, he discovered that kids attentively listened as the programmed robotic cow talked about kindness. Hoping to help stop violence and bullying by reaching children early, Dreier stepped away from his career as a motivational speaker and began working with young children full-time. The Children’s Kindness Network is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) with a mission of “Building a Culture of Kindness, Beginning with Pre-K.”
